Tuesday is our 5th grade promotion ceremony and luncheon. Please see the Save the Date flyer for specific times and details.
The last day of school is Thursday, May 29th.

Hello Cougar Leaders, this is Ms. Joiner, with this week’s school connect call.
This Tuesday, our 5th grade will be completing their Science testing. We will also continue completing our make-up testing. Our cougars need a good night's sleep, a healthy breakfast, and to arrive on time to show what they know!
Awards ceremonies begin this week. Make sure to RSVP to the award notice so that we can have your visitor’s tag ready for you when you arrive. Please check out the flyer below with specific times and dates.
Yearbooks have arrived! All 5th graders will receive a FREE yearbook. If you ordered a yearbook, they will be given to students this Monday. We will also be selling yearbooks this Tuesday, May 20th in the office. They are for sale for $25.00, cash only please. There is also a limited number of yearbooks.
Join us this Wednesday, May 21st, for our Spring Chorus Concert at 6pm.
Water Day is this Friday, May 23rd, for students with 1,300 Liveschool points! Please send your child in water clothes with a towel and a change of clothes. Bathing suits can be worn under clothes, with shirts and pants remaining on during the event.
Looking ahead, there is no school on May 26th for Memorial Day. Also, the last day of school for students is May 29th.

Hello Cougar Leaders, this is Ms. Joiner, with this week’s school connect call.
This past week, our cougars worked very hard on their assessments. We are so proud of their progress this school year. This week, our 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students take their FAST Math assessment. Check out the testing calendar for their specific dates. Our cougars need a good night's sleep, a healthy breakfast, and to arrive on time to show what they know!
Please join us at SAC and PTO this Tuesday at 3:45 for a presentation from Drug Free Charlotte County. They will be presenting the “In Plain Sight” trailer, which is an opportunity to explore a mock teen’s bedroom, looking for signs, items, and lingo used in teen substance use culture. The event also provides resources and tools for parents and community members to learn more about substance use risks and prevalence among teens, as well as treatment options and recovery services in Charlotte County. We hope you can join us!
Looking ahead, our 5th graders are taking their Science assessment on May 20th.

Hello Cougar Leaders, this is Ms. Joiner, with this week’s school connect call.
This week, our 1st and 2nd grade students will be taking their ELA and Math FAST assessments on May 6th and 7th! Our 4th and 5th graders are also taking their FAST ELA assessments on May 8th and 9th. Please see the testing flyer on Remind or Facebook. It is so important for our cougars to get a good night's sleep, a healthy breakfast, and arrive on time to show what they know!
As we near the end of the school year, please remember that car tags still need to be hung during dismissal. Once your student has loaded, please take the tag down. If you do not have your car tag, you will be asked to park, got to the office and show your ID before your student is released.
We have many end-of-year events coming up. We will be communicating these events through Remind, Facebook, and the Sunday Connect Call. Check out the flyer below for our “Save the Date” for Award Ceremonies. Students receiving an award will come home with an invitation closer to the dates.
The first Monday of each month Uncle Nick’s and/or Hallow Bean Coffee Co. will be giving Kingsway a portion of the profits when customers make an order and say, “It’s for Kingsway!” We are so thankful for these amazing community partners!
Looking ahead, our 3rd-5th graders will be taking their FAST math assessments the week of May 12. Also, please join us for SAC and PTO at 3:45pm on May 13th.

We had a blast at the Bubble Run on Friday night. A huge thank you to all of the families who joined in on the fun.
This Wednesday, April 30th, is our Early Release Day for professional development. Students will be released at 1:10 pm. Check out the flyer sent on Remind or Facebook for more details.

Hello Cougar Leaders, this is Ms. Joiner, with this week’s school connect call.
Our Kindergarten students will be taking their FAST ELA assessment this Tuesday and their Math assessment on Wednesday. It is so important that our students get a good night sleep, a healthy breakfast, and arrive on time so they can be ready to show what they know.
Calling all Future Cougar Leaders, our Kindergarten Round-up is April 23rd from 5-6pm. If you are planning to attend, please RSVP using the link or QR code on Remind and/or Facebook
We also have Take Your Child to Work Day and Beyond on April 24. Please check out our post on Facebook with more details and the permission slip for your child to partake.
Our Bubble Run is April 25th. Registration begins at 5pm, and the Run kicks off at 5:30pm. We will have hot dogs, chips, sodas, water, and candy for sale (cash only) at the event. We can’t wait to see you all there!

Our Bubble Run Fundraiser is due tomorrow, April 14th. Our Bubble Run is April 25th.
Join us this Tuesday for SAC and PTO at 3:45 in the Media Center to help us plan the final details for the Bubble Run.
This Friday, April 18th there is no school.

Third quarter report cards will be published on the parent portal tomorrow, March 31st. Please contact your child’s teacher with any questions or concerns.
Our Kingsway Bubble Run will be on April 25th. Starting tomorrow, students will receive information about the Bubble Run and the awesome prizes they can win! Help Kingsway reach their goal of $10,000!

This Monday is Spring Individual Picture Day for all students. Flyers went home last week with purchasing information, they can be purchased online as well.
Our Title 1 Family Engagement Survey is open through March 14th. Your input is extremely important to us! The flyer can be found on both Facebook and Remind; scan the QR code on the flyer to complete the survey! Once it is completed, write a note to your child’s teacher letting them know, and your child will receive 100 Liveschool points.

Our Boys on the Run are asking for local businesses to donate a basket or gift card to be raffled off at our STEAM night. These are due February 28th. Your donations are greatly appreciated!
We have an upcoming Pajama Day! On February 28th, Students pay one dollar and wear pajamas all day to help support our Boys on the Run! Please make sure students come to school in appropriate shoes like sneakers.
Check out the 7th annual Spring Break Sports Clinic hosted by CCSO and the PCHS Athletic Department. It is for students ages 8-14. Space is limited, so sign up today!
As a reminder, kindergarten registration is still open for any cougars who will be joining us next year.

5th grade is selling Candy Grams for Valentine’s Day, they cost one dollar! The deadline to send in order forms is this Thursday, February 13th.
This Tuesday at 4:30 is SAC and PTO. Childcare will be available.
Wednesday, February 12th is our Early Release Day for professional learning. Dismissal will begin at 1:10. Information was shared on both Remind and Facebook.

The Happy Camper Book Fair has arrived! Monday through Thursday, the Book Fair is open from 7:30am-8:30am and 4:00pm-5:30pm. On Friday it will only be open in the morning from 7:30am-8:30am.
Our last two award ceremonies are this week! Join us, this Tuesday at 9am for our 2nd grade ceremony and Thursday at 9am for our 4th grade ceremony.
Do you have an incoming kindergartener? It’s time to register for kindergarten! The first 50 students to register will receive a free T-shirt when they start kindergarten in August! Check out our post on facebook and remind for more details.

Monday, January 20th is Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day, there is no school.
The week of January 27th, schools across the state of Florida are joining the fun with Celebrate Literacy! This year we are Building Literacy: Constructing the Foundation for Success with several in-school activities to promote reading.
In addition, on Tuesday January 28th we are hosting a "Books and Bites" event through New Worlds Reading. Join us at 5:30pm to have fun while learning strategies, tips, and tools to support reading development, enjoy a free meal, participate in reading activities and receive a take home book! You can pre-register with the QR code in the flyer below.
As a reminder, we have class pictures on January 28th.

Hello Cougar Leaders, this is Ms. Joiner, with this week’s school connect call.
Report cards will be published tomorrow on the Focus Parent Portal. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact your child’s teacher.
In order to maintain a high level of student safety, students are required to wear school issued identification badges during regular school hours. Student ID badges must be worn around the neck using a school provided breakaway lanyard. If students have lost their ID, the first replacement is free, after that, it will be $5.00 for an ID. We appreciate your cooperation.
Join us for Family Movie Night this Friday at 5:30. We will be watching the movie Migration, outside, on the bus loop starting at 6 pm. Make sure to bring a chair or blanket to sit on while we watch the movie! We will have items for sale like popcorn, hot chocolate, and hot dogs. The weather will also be chilly, so dress warm.
Monday, January 20th is Martin Luther King Jr. Day, there is no school.
We are so excited to celebrate our students' accomplishments at our award ceremonies where students will be given recognition for their hard work from the first and second quarters of the school year! Please be on the lookout for award notices that will be sent home this week! The dates and times for awards were posted on both Facebook and Remind.
We have several jackets and sweaters in our lost and found, several of them do not have their names written on them. Please write your child’s name on the jackets and other items so they can be returned to their rightful owner.

Welcome back cougars leaders! We hope you enjoyed the break and made wonderful memories with family and friends.

In December, we had FAST testing. We will continue make-up testing in the month of January. You can access your child’s scores through the Focus Parent Portal. Directions will be posted along with this message on both Facebook and Remind.

Hello Cougar Leaders, this is Ms. Joiner, with this week’s school connect call.

Tomorrow and Tuesday, our 5th graders will be taking their FAST assessments. Students should get a good night of sleep and eat a healthy breakfast so they can show what they know! This week, we will have make-up testing for students who were absent during their testing days. We are so proud of the hard work our staff and students have put forth this school year to grow and succeed. To view your child’s scores, please go into your Focus Parent Portal and click on FAST assessments. You can see scores and detailed reports. Directions will be shared on Remind and Facebook.

In celebration of the holiday season, we are having some fun dress up days!

As we have fun this week, please remember all attire must meet the requirements of our dress code and proper shoes should be worn, please do not wear slippers.

Don’t forget, this Tuesday, December 17th at 6 pm is our Winter Chorus Concert.

Wednesday, December 18th is the deadline for ordering Candy Grams. 5th grade will be delivering the Candy Grams on Thursday and Friday.

Lastly, Friday is the last day of school before Winter Break. We will see all of our cougars back at school on Monday, January 6th.
